Modal is a form of rayon, another plant-based textile, though it is slightly more durable and flexible than the standard version. The process of making modal fabric is similar to viscose rayon but eliminates some of the most wasteful or harmful aspects of the viscose production process. It is an eco-friendly fabric, it's made from regenerative plants and there are fewer chemicals used in the production process than with other types of rayon, and biodegradable.
Elastane is the generic term used to describe a kind of fabric called spandex, and its primary attribute is its incredible elasticity.
Elastane is an entirely synthetic fabric; no organic materials are used to make this substance, and it does not exist anywhere in nature.
