SOBRE LOS TEJIDOS
Virgin wool is the wool taken from a lamb's first shearing. This is the softest and finest wool produced. There is another meaning of virgin wool - it can refer to wool that has never been used, processed, or woven before. This type of virgin wool can come from an adult sheep.
It’s better than recycled wool because it’s stronger and higher quality. Pure virgin wool is naturally breathable in both cold and warm weather, water-repellent, durable and insulating. It also resists wrinkles, stains, and odors. Even though you can dry-clean wool shirts, many people simply hang them up and let them air out, finding that to be just as effective.
Since virgin wool fibers haven’t been shredded like recycled wool, they’re more resilient—they don’t break or wrinkle as easily and can provide more stretch.
Mohair wool is a type of textile derived from the hair of the Angora goat. Compared to sheep wool, mohair is much softer, and it also has a notable sheen and luster.
Mohair is also much more elastic than most types of wool, it is not very flammable, and it is crease-resistant.
Because of the unique attributes of this type of wool, mohair is considered to be a luxury textile, and garments made entirely from this substance can be quite expensive. However, it's much more common to find mohair that has been mixed with other fabrics; even when this fiber is only used in small quantities, it makes any fabric of which it is a part much more elastic, shiny, and durable.
Alpaca fiber is the main product of alpaca, valued commercially and industrially for being one of the finest and most luxurious fibers in the world. Alpaca fiber has the following special characteristics:
Non-flammability: The fiber does not burn but is in direct contact with fire. Elasticity and resistance: Alpaca fiber has very good elasticity and resistance, making it comparable to wool and other animal fibers. Hygroscopic property: It absorbs low ambient humidity. Thermal property: It has thermal properties because it has microscopic air bubbles. Thanks to this characteristic, when it is hot it contracts to keep it cool and when it is cold it retains heat. The structure of alpaca fiber makes it behave as an insulator, making it possible to use it in different climatic conditions. Felting: Alpaca fiber has a lower tendency to felt when compared to wool and other animal fibers. Softness: The structure of the alpaca fiber makes it very soft to the touch, comparable to wool 3 to 4 microns finer. Visual texture: Especially for coats, the fabric has an excellent drape, appearance, natural shine and feel, remaining unchanged over time. Antiallergic: Does not contain lanolin.
Polyamide properties allow it to be a durable material, as well as resistant.
Polyamide and polyamide fiber blend have a firm position in swimwear/beachwear because they are easy to care for and have good wear properties: it is light, strong, quick-drying, and easy to clean.
We know Polyamide means using plastic... Well, plastic can be recycled, right? We try to find the good side in everything so in this garment, we can only suggest to use it well, do not wash it too much and please when you don't want to use it anymore find another life for it. It can be used to recycle fibers!
Cotton is the preferred choice for customers due to its perfect mix of softness, strength, and flexibility. But what also makes cotton popular is the fact that it’s a sustainable choice, too.
Soft, light, and breathable, compared to other common clothing fibers, cotton has the advantage of being a completely natural product that doesn’t require an intensive chemical process in order to be transformed into fabric.
Viscose is derived from the ‘cellulose’ or wood pulp from fast-growing, regenerative trees such as eucalyptus, beech, and pine, as well as plants such as bamboo, soy, and sugar cane.
Viscose, Modal, Lyocell, and Tencel are all different types of rayons. Even though the fibers are manufactured rather than ‘natural’, all types of Rayon are comfortable and breathable to wear.
Rayons resist odor retention longer than cotton does. Meaning more wear before washing and less washing is always an eco bonus!
Viscose is versatile, breathable, drapes beautifully, and is very smooth Many pros, uh? :)
Acrylic fiber closely resembles the look and feel of wool fibers. Acrylic fabric is lightweight, warm, and soft to the touch. It is thus used in place of wool or blended with sheep wool or cashmere.
